Thank you for attending Evening of Impact on May 24

The event was wonderful and we're so thankful for the unwavering commitment our community continuously shows us. Because of you, we raised over $136,000 to continue working towards our vision of a world where prevention efforts and global awareness of sexual violence expose rape myths, remove stigmas, eliminate rape, and support all people as equal members of society.

We'd like to send a special thank you to Tarana Burke and Kelley Kitley for a powerful program that created space for reflection and reminded us that we're stronger together.

Lastly, the night wouldn't have been complete without our wonderful vendors and in-kind donors. Thank you so much to Beavers DonutsBirds and B-SidesDeep Eddy VodkaEcoWilde Flower Co.Lagunitas Brewing CompanyLimelight CateringRevolution Brewing, and Spin-Spun.

Resilience: Empowering Survivors. Ending Sexual Violence.

After 44 years as Rape Victim Advocates (RVA), we saw the need for our name and messaging to better reflect our organization’s breadth of services from our trauma therapy programs to our work in medical and legal advocacy. We went through months of brand exploration, research and interviews with board members, survivors, and others close to the organization to come to a new name we feel embodies the future of our organization. We're excited to finally introduce our new name, effective July 1, 2018: Resilience.

Our mission and vision remain unchanged. We work with our clients, meeting them wherever they are on their path of recovery, to best support them. It's their resilience, however they define it, in the face of adversity that inspires us. Our new name honors our survivors, and the staff and volunteers who work with them.

Your support means a lot to us during this time of change and we hope you like the new brand as much as we do. Look to hear more from us in the weeks ahead about this!

Volunteer Class of Spring 2018

Please join us in congratulating the most recent addition to our family, 27 newly trained volunteer medical advocates! Our advocates are on-call 24/7 to provide crisis counseling in Chicago hospitals. They are the people answering pages from the hospital emergency room, the caring strangers who arrive to hold an unsteady hand, decipher medical and legal terminology, and filter through countless forms and paperwork, all to stand with survivors on their pathway to healing.

Thanks to more than 250 volunteer medical advocates, we're able to ensure victims receiving treatment in one of our 14 partner hospital emergency rooms are never alone.
